Emergency response teams, including law enforcement, fire crews, and EMS, were dispatched to assist. Two vehicles were involved in the crash, and one or more individuals sustained injuries. Emergency medical personnel provided immediate treatment on-site before transporting the injured individuals to a nearby hospital for further care. Authorities have not yet released the extent of the injuries or the identities of the individuals involved.
The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) urged drivers to avoid travel in the affected direction and use alternative routes, as the two blocked lanes caused significant delays. The estimated time for the lanes to be cleared was set for around 8:30 a.m., but authorities warned that traffic would continue to be slow for some time.
Law enforcement and fire crews worked diligently to clear the wreckage, secure the area, and restore normal traffic flow. Drivers were advised to remain cautious and patient while traveling through the area.
Our thoughts are with the injured individuals during their recovery.
