Monroe Co, GA – Two-Vehicle Crash with Injuries on I-75 S at mm 186
Monroe Co, GA (May 7, 2025) – A two-vehicle injury crash occurred Wednesday morning on I-75 southbound in Monroe County, causing the far left lane to be blocked near Juliette Rd at mile marker 186. The incident took place around 7:50 a.m., during a period of increased commuter traffic, leading to delays and congestion in the area near Forsyth.
According to the Georgia Department of Transportation and local emergency responders, both Monroe County Fire Rescue and EMS units were dispatched to the crash site. First responders worked quickly to assess the situation and provide medical assistance to the individuals involved. At least one person was injured and transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for evaluation and treatment. The severity of the injuries was not immediately disclosed.
Firefighters assisted in securing the crash scene and helped remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway. Georgia State Patrol officers directed traffic through the remaining lanes while coordinating with GDOT to manage the flow and ensure driver safety. Officials advised drivers to proceed with caution and expect residual delays as crews cleared the area.
Tow trucks were requested to remove the vehicles, and traffic was expected to return to normal once the left lane was reopened later in the morning.
