Monroe Co, MI – Crash with Injuries on I-75 SB After Laplaisance Rd Exit

Monroe Co, MI (May 6, 2025) – A two-vehicle crash injury occurred Tuesday afternoon on southbound Interstate 75 just after the Laplaisance Road exit (Exit 11) in Monroe County. The crash caused the right lane to be blocked, resulting in delays for motorists traveling through the area.

The incident was reported around 12:15 p.m., when two vehicles collided on the highway, leaving both with significant damage. According to Michigan State Police and local emergency responders, the crash occurred when one vehicle attempted to change lanes, causing a side-impact collision. The force of the crash caused debris to scatter across the highway.

Emergency services, including fire crews and ambulances, responded quickly to the scene. Firefighters helped with vehicle extrication, while paramedics treated one individual who sustained moderate injuries, including neck and back pain. The injured driver was transported to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. No other injuries were reported.

Traffic was impacted as authorities worked to clear the scene, and drivers were advised to expect delays. The right lane remained closed for about an hour while crews removed the vehicles and cleared the debris.
