Monroe County, GA – Truck Crash on I-75 near MM 179 Ends in Injuries

Monroe County, GA (February 10, 2023) – The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that took place on Wednesday morning that resulted in injuries.

On February 8, authorities were notified that a crash had occurred on Interstate 75.

Reports from the Sheriff’s office show that a truck was involved in the collision while pulling a trailer carrying pine straw on the northbound side of the interstate. As a result, the vehicle flipped over near mile marker 79.

The crash blocked multiple lanes of travel at around 8:30 a.m., prompting officials to close off the area.

At least one person suffered injuries in the accident and had to be transported to a local hospital.

The Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating the collision.
