Monroe County, MI – Detroit Woman Killed in Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-75
Monroe County, MI (January 22, 2025) – A tragic multi-vehicle crash involving a semi-truck and two passenger vehicles on I-75 claimed the life of a 56-year-old Detroit woman early Wednesday morning, January 22. The Michigan State Police First District reported that the accident occurred around 12:05 a.m. near the Ohio-Michigan state line.
When troopers from the Monroe post arrived, they discovered a 2023 Hyundai Kona against the median barrier. The driver, identified as a 56-year-old woman, was found unresponsive in her vehicle. First responders immediately initiated lifesaving measures, which EMS continued upon their arrival. Unfortunately, she was later pronounced dead at ProMedica Toledo Hospital. A 43-year-old male passenger in the Hyundai suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was also transported to ProMedica Toledo Hospital for treatment. The drivers of the other vehicles involved in the crash were reportedly unharmed. The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the circumstances leading to the collision.
