Monroe, MI – Man Injured in Collision with Semi-Truck on I-75 N near East Front St.
Monroe, MI (November 3, 2023) – On the evening of November 1st, in Monroe, an Allen Park man suffered a non-life-threatening injury in a collision between a sedan and a tractor-trailer on northbound I-75 near East Front Street.
The Monroe Public Safety Department received a distress call around 6:56 p.m. reporting the accident. When officers arrived, they found a sedan overturned in a ditch and a tractor-trailer on the side of the road. The 61-year-old Indiana man driving the tractor-trailer was unharmed and explained that the sedan had sideswiped his truck, causing it to veer off and overturn.
The 40-year-old Allen Park man, the sedan’s driver, was trapped inside the vehicle. Monroe firefighters successfully rescued him. Although he didn’t appear to have serious injuries, he was taken to a local hospital for further treatment and is now in stable condition.
The Monroe Police Accident Investigation Team is currently conducting a thorough investigation.
