North Port, FL – Injury Crash on SB I-75 near MM173

North Port, FL (January 28, 2026) – At least one person was hurt early Tuesday afternoon, January 27, in a vehicle crash on southbound Interstate 75 near the 173000 block in North Port, according to Sarasota County dispatch logs.

Emergency crews responded to the crash around 1:16 p.m. and confirmed injuries at the scene.  Firefighters from the North Port Fire Department worked to assist those involved and keep traffic moving safely along the busy stretch of the highway.

Officials have not yet released details on how many vehicles were involved or the extent of injuries reported. Troopers and investigators are still gathering facts to piece together what led to the crash.
