Northwood, OH – Wrong-Way Crash on I-75 Leaves Three Critically Injured

Northwood, OH (October 19, 2025) – A serious wrong-way collision involving a semi-truck and an SUV left multiple people injured on Sunday, October 19, on Interstate 75. The crash occurred around 2:46 a.m. near milepost 198, according to the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol (OSHP).

Authorities say a Freightliner tractor-trailer driven by 44-year-old Kewal Singh of Ontario, Canada, was traveling northbound when it was struck head-on by a Chevrolet Equinox. The Equinox, driven by 29-year-old Jose Perez of Toledo, was going south in the northbound lanes. The impact forced the semi off the road, where it struck the median cable barrier. Perez suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while his passengers, 34-year-old Walter Orellana and 22-year-old Ervin Ordonez, both of Toledo, sustained critical injuries. All three were transported to Mercy Health-St. Vincent Medical Center for treatment. Singh was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

All northbound lanes were shut down for hours as crews worked to clean up spilled diesel fuel and remove debris.

OSHP continues to investigate the incident and noted alcohol may have been a factor.
