Oakland, MI – Injuries Follow Traffic Wreck on I-75 near Sashabaw Rd

Oakland, MI (January 23, 2023) – A traffic crash was reported in the Oakland area on Sunday evening that ended in injuries. On January 22, the Michigan State Police were notified that they were needed at the scene of a traffic crash on Interstate 75.

According to law enforcement, at around 8:35 p.m., a vehicle crash blocked the northbound side of Interstate 75. The Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched to the scene.

FHP immediately secured the two right lanes of travel on the northbound side of the road near Shashabaw Road at exit 89.

The Michigan Department of Transportation reported extensive delays in traffic due to the accident.

Authorities went to work on removing the damaged vehicles from the road. At least one person suffered injuries in the accident that required further medical attention. The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital.

The Michigan State Police are actively investigating the crash.
