Oakland, MI – Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Highway Crash Reported near 12 Mile Rd

Oakland, MI (February 21, 2023) – At 755 p.m. on February 20, the Michigan Department of Transportation notified the state police and firefighters in Oakland that a motor vehicle accident took place that required their assistance.

Preliminary reports show that a collision between vehicles occurred on the southbound side of the interstate. The incident prompted the Michigan state police to close off multiple southbound lanes of the roadway near 12 Mile Road at Exit 63.

Firefighters and police worked to remove the damaged vehicles from the roadway.

At least one person suffered injuries as a result of the accident. Paramedics responded to the scene to provide care for the injured victims and transport them to local hospitals.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated by the Michigan State Police.
