Ocala, FL – Fatal Crash on I-75 Near State Rd 326 Leaves One Dead, Four Injured
Ocala, FL (November 12, 2024) – A catastrophic two-vehicle crash on southbound I-75 near the State Road 326 exit claimed the life of one man and left four others injured on Tuesday afternoon, November 12 according to Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). Emergency crews were dispatched at approximately 3:27 p.m. and began extrication efforts at 3:37 p.m. The collision involved a Honda Odyssey minivan and an Amazon tractor-trailer. FHP officials stated that the minivan lost control near mile marker 358, veered into the median, and re-entered the roadway before being T-boned by the tractor-trailer. One male passenger in the minivan was pronounced dead at 3:55 p.m. at the scene. Four other occupants of the minivan were transported to HCA Florida Ocala Hospital. Two are reported to be in critical condition, while the other two sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with authorities seeking to identify all involved and establish the circumstances leading to the tragedy.b
