Ocala, FL – FHP Responds to Injury Accident on I-75 near Florida’s Turnpike

Ocala, FL (February 23, 2023) – Backups on northbound I-75 extended nearly 20 miles Wednesday afternoon following a motor vehicle accident in the Ocala area.

At around 4:15 p.m. on February 22, the Florida Highway Patrol was called to provide assistance at the scene of an automobile accident on Interstate 75.

Preliminary reports show that a major collision occurred on the northbound side of the interstate. Traffic delays extended down the roadway approximately 20 miles toward Florida’s Turnpike.

Emergency medical services responded to care for the injured victims and to transport them to local hospitals.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated.
