Ocala, FL – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-75 near MM 358 Claims 1 Life, Injures 6

Ocala, FL (November 17, 2023) – A tragic incident occurred on the night of November 17th when a multi-vehicle collision occurred on I-75 in Marion County. The unfortunate event resulted in one fatality, and six individuals sustained injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) stated that a sedan traveling on I-75 near mile marker 358 veered across the paved emergency lane into the grass median. The sedan collided with the guardrail multiple times before reentering the roadway, ultimately crashing into another vehicle. Regrettably, a passenger in the sedan lost their life at the scene, as confirmed by Marion County Fire Rescue personnel. The sedan’s driver, operating without a valid driver’s license, was subsequently arrested. In the other vehicle involved, the driver and five passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries. As investigations into the incident continue, details regarding the underlying cause remain undisclosed.
