Ooltewah, TN – Crash With Injuries on I-75 SB Near Georgetown Rd Opas

Ooltewah, TN (May 5, 2025) – A crash with injuries occurred Monday morning on the southbound side of Interstate 75 near the Ooltewah Georgetown Road overpass. The incident, which happened on May 5 shortly before 7:45 a.m., was reported on the highway’s right shoulder and prompted a response from local and state emergency crews.

According to the Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT), the collision occurred in morning traffic near the overpass and caused delays as emergency personnel worked the scene. At least one individual sustained injuries and was treated by EMS responders. The victim was later transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for further evaluation. No fatalities have been reported, and the injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.

Firefighters and rescue personnel from the Ooltewah Fire Department assisted in clearing the vehicles involved and securing the area. Officers from the Tennessee Highway Patrol directed traffic and launched an investigation into the cause of the crash. Southbound lanes remained open, but traffic slowed significantly due to the incident on the shoulder.
