Palmetto, FL – Fatal Wrong-Way Crash Claims Life on I-75 S, Injures Others 

Palmetto, FL (March 24, 2024) – In the early hours of Sunday morning, March 24th, a 32-year-old Wimauma man drove his vehicle the wrong way on I-75 Southbound, resulting in a fatal collision. Palmetto, FL - Fatal Wrong-Way Crash Claims Life on I-75 S, Injures Others  According to reports from the Florida Highway Patrol, the Wimauma man entered the southbound lanes of I-275 before merging onto I-75, still traveling in the wrong direction. The collision occurred at Mile Marker 233, involving multiple vehicles and resulting in critical injuries to a 23-year-old Bradenton woman. Despite efforts to rescue the victims and administer medical aid, the Wimauma man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Bradenton woman was airlifted to Tampa General Hospital for further treatment, while a 29-year-old Saint Cloud man sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances leading to this tragic accident.
