Portage Township, OH – Findlay Man Killed in Pedestrian Accident on I-75 /MP 174

Portage Township, OH (December 4, 2024) – A tragic accident on I-75 claimed the life of a Findlay man Tuesday evening, December 3 according to the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol. The incident occurred around 6:57 p.m. near milepost 174 when Daniel Soloman, 69, attempted to cross the highway on foot from east to west.

As Soloman traversed the middle lane, he was struck by a 2023 Toyota Camry driven by Leroy Newson, 34, of Detroit, Michigan. Soloman suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Newson was uninjured in the crash. Emergency responders from Mid-County Emergency Medical Services, Central Joint Fire and Rescue, and the Ohio Department of Transportation were present to assist. BG Towing Company also responded to the scene. The Ohio State Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident.
