Riverview, FL – Injury Truck Crash on I-75 S near Big Bend Rd
Riverview, FL (December 10, 2025) – A 61-year-old Tampa man is recovering after a commercial truck crash on Monday, December 8, along I-75 southbound near Big Bend Rd.
Troopers with the Florida Highway Patrol reported that the man was driving the truck shortly before 8 a.m. when he suffered a medical emergency. He then lost control, entered the median, struck a guardrail, and overturned back onto the road.
Traffic cameras showed the truck jackknifed as emergency crews worked at the scene. Southbound lanes remained closed for several hours while first responders assisted the injured driver and cleared the wreckage. Officials said the man was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
A 35-year-old Tampa man riding in the truck was not hurt. FHP continues to review what led to the medical issue and the crash. Our thoughts are with the injured driver as he recovers.
