Sarasota County, FL – Injuries Reported in I-75 Crash near Exit 179

Sarasota County, FL (February 6, 2023) – The Florida Highway Patrol was dispatched to provide assistance at the scene of an automobile accident that took place on Saturday evening in Sarasota County.

On February 4, authorities were notified that a traffic crash had occurred on Interstate 75.

At approximately 8:30 p.m., a car accident blocked the northbound side of the interstate.

The Florida Highway Patrol and area firefighters responded to the scene and closed off the left lane of travel near exit 179 at Toledo Blade Boulevard.

Emergency crews worked to remove the damaged vehicles from the scene of the accident.

Paramedics were called to provide care to the victims who suffered injuries. An unknown number of injured parties were transported to local hospitals for further treatment.

The Florida Highway Patrol is currently investigating the accident.
