Sarasota, FL – I-75 Accident with Injuries Reported near Fruitville Rd

Sarasota, FL (March 13, 2023) – At least one person was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries following a car crash that took place in Sarasota County on Sunday afternoon, March 12.

At around 11:20 a.m., the Florida Highway Patrol was notified that a car crash took place on Interstate 75.

Authorities responded to the scene of the accident and closed off a portion of the southbound side of the interstate near Exit 210 for Fruitville Road.

Emergency crews went to work quickly on removing the damaged vehicles from the area near the west entrance ramp. Emergency medical services responded to care for injured victims and transferred them to local hospitals.

Florida Highway Patrol and firefighters spent several hours at the scene of the accident as they worked to clear the road and investigate. Investigations are currently ongoing.
