Sarasota, FL – Injury Accident Reported on I-75 near Fruitville Rd

Sarasota, FL (February 26, 2023) – The Florida Highway Patrol responded to the scene of an accident involving several vehicles that took place in Sarasota County on Friday evening.

At around 11:54 p.m. on February 24, calls for help were received regarding an automobile accident that occurred on Interstate 75.

Crash reports indicate that multiple vehicles collided on the northbound side of the interstate. The incident completely blocked the right lane of travel near Exit 210 at Fruitville Road.

Emergency medical services responded to the scene of the accident to care for the victims as the Florida Highway Patrol assisted firefighters in the removal of damaged vehicles.

At least one person was transported to a local hospital for further medical care.

The circumstances surrounding the accident are being investigated.
