Sidney, OH – Multi-Vehicle Collision on I-75 Leaves Injures
Sidney, OH (February 15, 2025) – A serious collision involving an ambulance and a semi-truck occurred on Interstate 75 early Friday morning, February 15, leaving multiple firefighters injured. The incident occurred just before 6 a.m. as a Sidney Fire and Emergency Services Unit was en route to the Troy Sheetz gas station to transfer a patient to a Miami Valley Hospital Mobile Intensive Care Unit (MICU). According to a press release from the City of Sidney, the ambulance was struck by a semi-truck while traveling on I-75.
Three firefighters were inside the ambulance at the time of the crash. One firefighter was transported to Upper Valley Medical Center in Troy for evaluation, while another was taken to Wilson Health in Sidney for assessment. The third firefighter did not require medical attention. The patient being transferred was reportedly involved in one of two other accidents on I-75 that morning. The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported that one crash occurred at the 87-mile marker, involving three semi-trucks and two vehicles, while another took place at the 94-mile marker, involving eight to nine cars. Authorities are investigating the cause of the crash.
