Sumter County, FL – Accident with Injuries Reported on I-75 near MM 313

Sumter County, FL (January 3, 2023) – Emergency officials out of Sumter County were summoned to the scene of a traffic accident that took place on Monday morning that sent at least one victim to a nearby medical facility for the treatment of injuries. On January 2, the Florida Highway Patrol and firefighters were called to the scene of a traffic accident on Interstate 75.

At approximately 7:45 a.m., a vehicle collision blocked the northbound side of the interstate. The incident caused delays near mile marker 313 that extended back to mile marker 310.

Authorities worked at the scene of the accident to clear the crash from the two left lanes of travel.

At least one of the people involved in the accident suffered injuries and had to be transported to a local hospital.

Emergency crews spent an extended time at the scene as they worked to reopen the roadway. Investigations into the accident are currently being performed.
