Tampa, FL – Motorcyclist Killed in Collision on I-75 NB near State Rd 56

Tampa, FL (December 6, 2024) – A tragic motorcycle accident occurred on I-75 Northbound near State Road 56 in Pasco County on Thursday, December 5th, leaving one man dead and another individual injured.

The Florida Highway Patrol reported that the crash happened at approximately 2:34 p.m. when a motorcycle attempted to overtake a Chevy Trax in the northbound lanes. The motorcycle collided with the back of the vehicle, ejecting the motorcyclist upon impact. Emergency responders pronounced the motorcyclist, a 37-year-old man from Tampa, deceased at the scene. The driver of the Chevy Trax, a 25-year-old woman from Wesley Chapel, sustained minor injuries and received medical attention on-site. The crash caused significant delays as authorities worked to clear the roadway and gather evidence. Investigators are examining the details of the accident to determine contributing factors.
