Tampa, FL – Seffner Man Killed in Tow Truck Collision on I-75 Exit Ramp

Tampa, FL (March 7, 2025) – A tragic accident claimed the life of a Seffner man on Friday afternoon, March 7, following a collision with a tow truck on an Interstate 75 exit ramp. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident occurred around 1:30 p.m. as a 66-year-old Seffner man was traveling northbound on the I-75 exit ramp leading to Fowler Avenue. For reasons yet to be determined, the driver veered off the roadway and entered the outside shoulder, where his vehicle crashed into a stationary flatbed tow truck.

Emergency personnel arrived at the scene and provided medical assistance before transporting the driver to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries. The tow truck driver, a 25-year-old man from Plant City, was not injured in the incident. The Florida Highway Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, including potential contributing factors such as driver impairment or speeding. Authorities have not released the identity of the deceased, pending family notification.
