Tampa, FL – Serious Multi-Vehicle Collision on SB I-75 Near State Road 60 Results in Severe Injuries

Tampa, FL (September 20, 2023) – A major six-vehicle accident occurred on southbound Interstate 75 near State Road 60 on Wednesday, September 20th, injuring one person seriously.

The incident occurred when an unidentified driver of a white Toyota veered off the right side, crashing into the divider separating I-75 and the U.S. Highway 301 exit ramp. A semi-truck attempted to avoid the collision but couldn’t, colliding with the Toyota’s rear.

The Toyota spun and came to a stop, while the semi-truck continued southwestward, colliding with a concrete traffic barrier. A black Ford swerved to avoid the semi, stopping on the U.S. Highway 301 exit ramp. Three more vehicles got caught in the chaos, with one rear-ending others and causing a serious injury.

Seven individuals were involved, with six sustaining non-life-threatening injuries.

Authorities are investigating the sequence of events leading to the accident.
