Temple Terrace, FL – Fatal Crash on I-75 near Fletcher Ave

Temple Terrace, FL (October 3, 2025) – A St. Petersburg man tragically died and another person was seriously injured on Wednesday evening, October 1, in a crash on northbound Interstate 75 just south of Fletcher Avenue in Hillsborough County. Emergency responders transported both injured individuals to local hospitals for treatment.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, a 38-year-old Lakeland woman was driving a Nissan Rogue at a very slow speed in the outside lane. Behind her, a 67-year-old man from St. Petersburg was driving a Mitsubishi Mirage. The man attempted to overtake the Nissan Rogue but collided with it. Following the impact, the Nissan Rogue went off the road and struck a barrier wall, while the Mitsubishi Mirage spun into the path of a semi-truck driven by a 43-year-old man from Georgia. The semi struck the Mitsubishi, resulting in fatal injuries to the St. Petersburg driver.

The Lakeland woman and the semi-truck driver were not seriously injured, although the woman was hospitalized for treatment. Authorities continue to investigate the crash to determine all contributing factors.
