Toledo, OH – Wrong-Way Crash on I-75/Alexis Rd Leaves One Dead, One Injured
Toledo, OH (February 5, 2025) – A fatal wrong-way collision on I-75 near the Alexis Road exit early February 5 claimed one life and injured a semi-truck driver. The crash occurred around 4 a.m. when a passenger vehicle traveling north in the southbound lanes struck a semi head-on. The impact scattered debris and severely damaged both vehicles. The wrong-way driver died at the scene and remains unidentified. The semi-driver, a 44-year-old Michigan man, was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries. Both directions of I-75 were closed for hours, with traffic rerouted during cleanup led by the Ohio Department of Transportation. Authorities are investigating how the wrong-way vehicle entered the highway.
