Wayne Co, MI – Driver Injured in Two-Car Crash on SB I-75 at Outer Dr
Wayne Co, MI (May 6, 2025) – A two-car crash injury occurred early Tuesday morning, May 6, on southbound Interstate 75 at Outer Drive in Wayne County, resulting in lane closures and the hospitalization of at least one individual.
The crash happened around 12:28 a.m., according to Michigan State Police and local emergency services. Authorities stated that two passenger vehicles collided in the freeway’s left lane, causing significant damage to both cars. The left lane and left shoulder were shut down for emergency response and cleanup operations.
Firefighters arrived quickly and had to extricate one of the drivers from their vehicle due to the extent of the damage. EMS personnel provided on-scene treatment and transported the injured driver to a nearby hospital. According to preliminary reports, the victim sustained moderate injuries, including a possible concussion and chest trauma, but was conscious during transport.
The second driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries and declined hospitalization. Investigators are reviewing the possibility of speed and driver distraction as contributing factors. No charges have been filed at this time.
