Wayne Co, MI – Fatal Crash on NB I-75 at Holbrook
Wayne Co, MI (March 19, 2025) – A fatal crash occurred on Wednesday night in Wayne County, claiming the life of one individual and causing major traffic delays. The incident, reported by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, took place at approximately 8:47 p.m. on northbound I-75 at Holbrook, with multiple lanes blocked due to the crash.
According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office, an SUV collided with a truck on the highway, resulting in the SUV overturning and blocking both the left and right lanes, as well as the shoulders. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the crash and immediately began the process of extricating the vehicles. Firefighters were involved in extracting the trapped driver from the SUV, while paramedics tended to the injured individuals.
The driver of the SUV, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Traffic was backed up for several miles as emergency crews worked to clear the wreckage and restore normal flow.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that no charges will be filed in this incident, as it is believed that the SUV driver was at fault. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
