Wayne, MI – Crash with Injuries Reported on Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Highway near MI-8

Wayne, MI (February 6, 2023) – The Michigan Department of Transportation notified officials that their assistance was needed on-site at a crash that ended in injuries.

At around 6:15 a.m., on February 6, calls for help were received regarding a traffic crash on Interstate 75, the Tuskegee Airmen Memorial Highway.

Preliminary investigations indicate that a traffic accident blocked the right lane and shoulder of southbound Interstate 75 near Michigan State Route eight during the morning hours.

The incident prompted the Michigan state police out of Wayne County and firefighters to provide assistance at the scene. Authorities immediately blocked the roadway and began removing the damaged vehicles and debris from the travel lanes.

Medics were called to care for the victims who suffered injuries. At least one person was transported to a local hospital for further medical care.

At this time, the incident remains under investigation.
