Whitfield County, GA – Secondary Truck Crash on I-75 Takes Life of Haley Cunningham

Whitfield County, GA (January 26, 2023) – A Georgia 911 dispatcher has lost her life following a truck crash that took place on Wednesday morning in Whitfield County.

According to reports from the Georgia Highway Patrol, at around 3:50 a.m., on January 25, emergency officials were called to the scene of a traffic crash on Interstate 75.

Reports from Highway Patrol indicate that 28-year-old Haley Cunningham was driving a Kia forte on the northbound side of Interstate 75 when she became involved in a collision. As a result, her vehicle struck the center median. The vehicle then came to rest in the middle lanes of the roadway facing the opposite direction.

A tractor-trailer traveling through the area struck her car, causing her to be ejected. The semi-truck then overturned. A flatbed truck passing through the area then struck Cunningham, who came to rest in the right lane of travel.

Cunningham suffered fatal injuries due to the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident prompted authorities to close off the roadway for nearly 3 hours as they worked to clear the scene and conduct an investigation. Investigations are currently ongoing.
