Wood County, OH – Fatal Motorcycle Crash on I-75 North Claims Man’s Life

Wood County, OH (July 5, 2023) – In the early hours of Tuesday, July 4th, a tragic collision between a motorcycle and a car on I-75 north in Wood County resulted in the loss of a man’s life.

According to local reports, the motorcyclist, identified as Jamie Pickerel, aged 47 and from Toledo, was operating a Suzuki Hayabusa motorcycle traveling northbound on I-75. The motorcycle collided with the rear of another vehicle, leading to Pickerel being ejected from his bike.

Emergency services responded to the scene after the Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol received a distress call at 12:15 a.m. Pickerel’s injuries were life-threatening, and he was rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle involved was also taken to the hospital, but the extent of their injuries remains unknown at this time.

Law enforcement authorities are currently investigating the cause of the crash, as further details are being determined.
