Detroit, MI – Semi-Truck Jackknifes on I-75 NB at State Fair Ave

Detroit, MI (October 4, 2025) – A crash involving a tandem semi-truck blocked several lanes on Friday afternoon, October 3, on northbound Interstate 75 at State Fair Avenue.

The Detroit Regional Communication Center reported receiving the call around 1:20 p.m. Investigators said the 40-year-old driver from Canton had entered I-75 from 7 Mile when the rear trailer of his truck began swaying. The driver lost control, causing the rear trailer to detach and the tractor and front trailer to jackknife across three of the four lanes.

The incident spilled grain across the roadway, forcing major cleanup efforts. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in the crash.

Authorities reopened the roadway after clearing the scene. Michigan State Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

We are thankful no one was hurt in this crash. The investigation remains ongoing.
