Shawnee Twp., OH – Two Killed in Crash with Semi-Truck on I-75
Shawnee Township, OH (October 5, 2025) – A crash on Interstate 75 near Breese Road left two people dead on Saturday afternoon, October 4. According to the Ohio State Highway Patrol, 29-year-old Travontay Hooks-Sanders of Greer, South Carolina, was traveling northbound in a 2016 Jeep Renegade when he drifted onto the right berm and struck the back of a disabled 2022 Freightliner Cascadia semi.
The force of the collision caused catastrophic damage to the Jeep. Passenger Derek Robinson, 29, of Southfield, Michigan, also suffered fatal injuries. Both men were pronounced dead at the scene and transported to the Lucas County Morgue. The semi-truck driver, identified as Keith Hughes, was not injured.
Multiple local agencies, including Shawnee Township EMS, Perry Township Fire, and the Allen County Coroner’s Office, assisted in the response. Towing crews removed the wreckage after several hours of investigation.
