Perrysburg Twp, OH – Serious Injuries in 4-Vehicle Crash on I-75 SB Near MP 194

Perrysburg Twp, OH (August 29, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 75 southbound in Perrysburg Township left one man seriously injured on Tuesday afternoon, August 26.

The Bowling Green Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol reported the collision happened around 3:55 p.m. near milepost 194.

According to investigators, a 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 travelling in the right lane failed to maintain a safe distance and struck a 2019 Chrysler Town and Country van. The impact forced the van into the left lane, where it collided with a 2013 Lincoln sedan. The Chrysler came to rest disabled on the left shoulder, while the Lincoln was disabled in the centre lane.

After the initial crash, the Dodge Ram veered off the roadway and struck a 2016 Peterbilt tractor-trailer merging onto I-75 southbound. Both vehicles travelled off the interstate, where the Dodge Ram overturned and came to rest on its roof beneath the partially overturned semi.

The Dodge Ram’s driver, 46-year-old Marv Kranick of Bradner, suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Perrysburg EMS transported him to St. Vincent’s Medical Centre. The drivers of the Chrysler, Lincoln, and Peterbilt were not injured.

Authorities continue to investigate the cause of the crash.

Our thoughts are with Mr. Kranick as he recovers from his injuries. The investigation remains ongoing.

Multi-Vehicle Crashes on I-75 in Ohio

Interstate 75 is one of the busiest highways in Ohio, stretching through Perrysburg Township and connecting drivers across the state. With so much traffic, accidents involving multiple vehicles are unfortunately common. Crashes like the recent four-vehicle collision can cause serious injuries and extensive property damage, particularly when commercial trucks are involved.

Multi-vehicle accidents often occur when one driver fails to maintain a safe distance, resulting in chain-reaction collisions. On highways, these crashes are particularly hazardous due to higher speeds and heavy traffic. Victims may face serious injuries such as broken bones, spinal trauma, or head injuries, while others may be fortunate to walk away without harm. Even a single mistake, such as distracted driving or failing to slow down, can impact multiple vehicles simultaneously.

The aftermath of these accidents is often overwhelming. Victims may need emergency medical care, hospital stays, or long-term rehabilitation. Medical bills and lost wages can place financial stress on families. Ohio law allows injured individuals to pursue compensation when negligence causes a crash. This may include payment for medical expenses, lost income, pain and suffering, and vehicle repairs.

Accidents involving commercial trucks, like the Peterbilt in this case, can be especially complex. Determining liability may require investigating not only the driver but also the trucking company, vehicle maintenance, and cargo safety. Because of these challenges, many victims turn to experienced attorneys who understand multi-vehicle and truck accident claims.
