Sarasota Co., FL – Fatal Two-Vehicle Crash on I-75 Claims Two Lives

Sarasota County, FL (December 15, 2025) – A deadly two-vehicle collision on Interstate 75 northbound near mile marker 203 claimed the lives of two people on Sunday, December 14. The Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that both vehicles were traveling north when one struck the other, forcing a vehicle off the roadway and into a tree.

A 69-year-old man from Pensacola and an unidentified woman in the second vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle, a 48-year-old man from Ohio, was not injured. Authorities later arrested him on DUI manslaughter charges. Florida Highway Patrol led the investigation, with SCSO deputies assisting at the scene.

The crash shut down multiple northbound lanes for several hours as investigators documented evidence and cleared debris. Traffic flow was fully restored shortly before midnight.
