Suwannee Co., FL – Two Killed in Fiery Semi-Truck and SUV Crash on I-75
Suwannee County, FL (October 19, 2025) – A deadly crash involving a semi-truck and an SUV left two people dead on Sunday, October 19, on Interstate 75 South in Suwannee County. The collision happened around 2:00 a.m. near mile marker 440, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
Investigators reported that a semi-truck collided with an SUV, forcing the SUV into a guardrail before it burst into flames. Tragically, both occupants of the SUV—a 45-year-old male driver and a female passenger whose age was not immediately released—were pronounced dead at the scene. The semi-truck was being operated by a 56-year-old Georgia man with a 37-year-old passenger, also from Georgia. Neither suffered injuries. Traffic was heavily impacted, with vehicles backed up for several hours until lanes reopened later in the morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the sequence of events that led to the crash.
